LOTRI - Beaumont Crusade June 2019

Life on the Rock,
TDCJ Le Blanc Unit Weekend

The weekend of June 28, 29, and 30th of 2019. Life on the Rock had it's first ever ministry crusade at the TDCJ Le Blanc Unit.

 FridayJune 28, 2019 -
6:30 - 8:30 PM Life on the Rock conducted it's first open call service of the weekend crusade. Volunteers from Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and Beaumont all gathered together to enter the Unit to meet the 1150 men for the first time. Taking the lead and leading the team was LOTR Leader, Norman Garrett who invested his time, talent, and tithe to help this ministry facilitate what God was planning for the weekend event. 5:30 - 6:30 pm the team met for prayer in the parking lot and entered through security so that teammates could go into the dorms to meet the offenders the first time. 

Bringing the Love of Christ into such a dark place can be challenging and even spirtiually draining and I knew that the man for the job was Norman.

Nikki and I drove in from Grapevine to Beaumont, TX for the weekend having left the Coffield Unit where we had just finished the Bridges To Life, Faith Based Dorm graduation. And afterwards until about 4:15 pm, the Chaplains asked me to cover the main Chapel office for a few hours as acting CVCA. Which proved uneventfull, but we spent a few hours in fellowship with Christian brothers in white.

​We arrived to the Shepherd's Inn around 10:00 PM and got settled in after a short meeting and prayers.
